In my experience, schools reviewing their history curriculum aren't pursuing political activism. They're trying to make history academically rigorous, encourage enquiry, represent their communities and help children engage with difficult and sometimes uncomfortable history.

14/n nobody can do their best work when they're scared they'll lose their job and not afford rent or mortgage. I get that very well. But the right answer can't be to lower standards for some kids. Fin.
