The important questions to me are more, are we causing excess suffering to feed ourselves? Can we do better? Can we get away with raising meat animals without them suffering/anticipating their doom? Maybe the answer is no for octopus and yes for cows, idk, but the feelings angle gets on my nerves
Show PostI’m not a vegetarian because quite frankly it’s too much work for me right now and I don’t expect to single-handedly end the meat industry But I absolutely believe animals have feelings. And I believe their lives have value even if they don’t demonstrate “complex thought”
Show PostThe whole “don’t eat octopus we know they have dreams and emotions!” Thing really irritates me, because are you telling me we really assume that cows don’t have emotions and dream? For real? Do you just pretend they’re little meat automatons?
