I grew up in a house run by a man who made relationship-annihilating threats, then took them back the next morning, denying what he’d said or positioning us as stupid and weak for having believed him. It took a lot to put life together after, and it’s hard to re-experience it now on a global scale.

Last night I met Pulitzer Prize winning composer Caroline Shaw and she recognized me from online and gave me a hug! I forgot to take a picture with her but I got to tell her how much I admire her compositional career and her use of unusual parameters intersecting with triad music. It was so cool.
