The “doctor who’s a condescending ass but really smart and always gets the right answer so who cares” trope in TV is actively harmful because the audience is bad at differentiating that from reality, and the reality is that those doctors miss things because no one wants to interact with them.

yes! generally the asshole genius trope has done much damage. people who fancy themselves as geniuses (typically without merit) think it gives them license to be jerks
