It’s almost comical how reliably my posts go viral when I criticize electoral politics for prioritizing the status quo comfort and assimilation over meaningful change. Nothing proves my point quite like a bunch of liberals yelling at a trans person to get in line and stop expressing disappointment.

It’s not like I have literal centuries of history to point to to democratic establishment norms valuing capital above all else and only nominally including marganlzied people in that when they can be assimilated into and useful for capitalistic concerns.

Three children and a teacher should be alive today. My heart breaks for the families whose loved ones will never come home, the survivors bearing unimaginable trauma, and the entire Bend community in mourning. No family should ever be forced to bear this kind of pain.
