on October 14, a black bear entered the Mammoth Lakes Library at 6 am. it was the 100th anniversary of the publication of Winnie-the-Pooh. the bear went directly to the employees' food supplies. i know what you're thinking. the answer is yes. he ate a pot of honey. this was a pilgrimage.

9-year old me wouldnt understand this loss for YEARS. May 2020, at a little shy of 38 the full grief and loss finally hit. Why the 28 year delay? Pandemic inspired introspection? Or maybe, just maybe…that May is when I became older than he was at his death almost to the day (still spooked by this)
