Drives me crazy that "human beings are basically out-of-control rabble Strong Men With Weapons (or Muscles) need to beat in submission" is such a popular movie framework. Since it's so authoritarian. And so not what most people do in times of crisis.

Including stuff about elite panic, a term disaster sociologists coined, because that's often who goes berserk.
