"My audience doesn't have any money." I hear this a lot from Black creators, Latino creators, queer and trans creators. Perhaps, but also, the institutions are failing us right now. Philanthropy and corporate is moving away from anything resembling DEI.

There are people in your audience with money. You have to focus on finding them. They might not be on your newsletter or listening to your show yet. Another thing you could consider is higher tiers for the folks who can be patrons of the project to offset smaller subscription tiers
