Here's an example of why I think marketing/sales of police tech needs *intense* scrutiny and regulation. Watermarked video, put out by the company, with officers in uniform and on patrol praising the product. The PD didn't make this video on their own, its not just testimonials, it's a commercial.

The Crime Index (Crimeindex.org) is updated now through August. Murder is down 16% in our sample of nearly 550 agencies covering 112 million people nationwide. Violent crime is down 6% and property crime is down 9% as crime continues to fall in the United States.
