Not only because most of the time, it turns out they were always cutting "front line" staff anyway, but also because we bloody well KNOW that when you fire all the people who do the paperwork and keep the systems running, the "frontline" has to pick it all up!

Reposting AND quote posting because it can't be said enough: we must rebuke the narrative of "frontline" workers (who are So Important and Worthy unless they're on strike over shitty pay) and "back office" workers who contribute nothing and are acceptable casualties of public service cuts
