At the time we concluded that deep learning hadn't yet transformed biomedicine. This was pre-Transformer, pre-AlphaFold, pre-GPTs.
Show Post10 years ago today @casey.greenelab.com launched our review "Opportunities and obstacles for deep learning in biology and medicine" greenelab.github.io/deep-review/. It was a widely collaborative project written on GitHub, which lead to the creation of manubot.org.

I reported a broken storm drain on my street today. The town came out within hours to start repair. Either my town is pretty great or having the same name as the governor is finally paying off in the most mundane way possible.
