This is about multiplication, not the FFT (they are related, but the former doesn't require complex multiplication). And even so, the galactic algorithm critique still applies here. Asymptotics are unhinged.

Knowing the 1/7ths fractions decimal representations by heart is also surprisingly useful. I’ve gotten spreadsheets from companies before and wondered how some data arose, but after noticing, say 101.428571, it was apparently a daily average
