GenAI is bad at math & since making mistakes to the IRS is expensive we'd have to double check the numbers are right, which is a waste. A colleague worked at TurboTax, & they are absolutely using AI, but to micromanage their agents. If the robot could do tax returns they would. But it can't.
Show PostI'm in the tax filing & accounting space & I'm a die hard genAI hater. One element that speaks for itself is QBO's AI tool constantly miscatagorizes expenses and my bookkeepers waste a lot of time ferreting out mistakes and cleaning them up. 1/2
