you see Black people organize something for themselves and immediately stick your hand out! cuz we're supposed to be working for everybody, right? always including everyone in everything, even and especially at our own expense, right? expecting nothing in return, right?

i think that's what i want people to really notice. i remember #drawingwhileblack and the backlash it received because it didn't do the organizing work for *other* ethnic minorities who also possess internet connections! it's not just white people feeling entitled to Black labor and innovation.

BIPOC really seemed to pop off in the immediate aftermath of summer 2020 because people couldn't tolerate a distinct focus on anti-Blackness and creating opportunities for specifically Black people. quiet as it's kept !
