When I talk to nonprofit leaders about AI they often report widespread resistance from staff, usually because of environmental objections (that mix real issues & fake ones). It causes them frustration because they’re all under-resourced for their mission & see AI as a way to help more people.

One thing I have learned talking to lots of people about AI is that they can be both worried about the implications of AI and very excited about using AI themselves. I think people on this site tend to view many people's attitudes to AI as much less complicated than they are.

Mamdani left soccer field lights on all night…..the lights usually go off at 10pm. They set a camera up and guess what they saw?? Residents playing soccer with their friends ALL NIGHT. One man said how much he loved it because his friends work late and can’t get to the field before 10pm.
