So, I had originally planned to return Honeydew to her colony. But she only had one FVRCP shot (the full series is 3 shots for complete kitten immunity coverage) & needed her ear tipped. She stayed w/a rescue friend, waiting for her vet day. Well, now she has 2 shots & is in my house awaiting a 3rd.

The short term plan is to keep Honeydew until her last booster shot in about two weeks & make one last push to see if we can break down any walls w/her. No one else has had any luck, but I (perhaps foolishly) hate the idea of putting a kitten back outside, so since she’s here, might as well try.

My long-term ambition isn’t necessarily for Honey to become a sweet and outgoing lap cat— I just want her to trust humans enough that she could be happy as a barn cat where she could be sheltered and cared for without so many of the hardships of living at a colony in the woods near a busy highway.

Step one was introducing touch w/the wand, because she hissed at reaching hands (& had seriously bitten her first foster who tried to handle her w/o her consent). To create positive association w/the wand & encourage her to seek contact, we bribe w/churu. She did well, so I also offered hand & churu
