Show PostI go back and forth on whether I should keep on fighting and try to enact some kind of change, or if I should give up and treat this whole thing as a natural disaster where all I can do is to try and make the best of it
Show Postlike, if your beliefs and principles never push you to make some kind of sacrifice, then I suspect you're not actually sticking to your principles
Show PostI feel like the people who have a "fuck it yolo" approach to life are probably quite a lot happier in general than someone (me) who tries very hard to stick to principles, who strives to be morally consistent in ways that come at a personal, professional, and a social cost
Show PostI feel like there are parallels to climate change and veganism in AI individually you're tempted and encouraged to do something that you know is immoral, but you feel like you can't affect things much anyway so why not enjoy the personal benefits while you can, especially if it's become the norm
