for those familiar with transit politics in the US and Canada, it's clear as day that changes to fare enforcement measures are based entirely on PR in a conservative-leaning society that hates collectivism + funding public services. making a show out of protecting the "taxpayer's dime" is the game.

I understand the argument of - they should run more service and they should operate it better…but between Bathurst between Dundas and lakeshore is a no brainer for priority lanes…just drive behind a streetcar on that section and it’s pretty clear that there are problems…especially in the pm rush
