I agree with all this being a problem but also isn't there a similar "affordability crisis" narrative across Europe even in countries where there actually is much more extensive insurance against the vagaries of life?
Show PostThe other thing is that the detachment between economic sentiment and economic fundamentals is a post pandemic phenomenon even though the US has had a crap safety net with major issues around childcare and healthcare for decades. Why the change now? The pandemic as memento mori?
