Thanks for saying so + sorry to hear that! Feel free to ignore but many doctors treat HRT as a foreign agent opposite to how they think of bioidentical hormones in our cis equivalents, and convincing us of it bc of "health risks" they'd ignore if we were cis bc HRT is "optional" is a common issue.

Medically transitioning is massively stigmatized in particular and trans healthcare is a core target of the anti-trans movement. You don't have to medically transition to be trans, but rhetoric centering validity over making care accessible for all is our enemy!

good rule of thumb is that when anyone goes out of their way to insist that you don't have to do something which society already overwhelmingly stigmatizes and undermines, that person's real message is opposition to that thing even if they'd like to claim neutrality!

No you don't get it, the BBC had to edit out the protect the dolls t-shirt because of impartiality. On the one hand some people think trans women should be safe, but on the other hand some people think trans women should eat glass. It's a deeply politicised issue actually.
