Today was my last day at NIH after 11 years. I grew up nearby, did summer research, and returned “home” to start my lab. I always thought I’d retire from NIH. But with (lots of!) mixed emotions, and many thanks to my amazing lab and colleagues, I’m saying goodbye 🌸 -> 🍁

New preprint! Biohybrid #robots powered by skeletal muscle have historically relied on 3D tissue. Here we show that 2D skeletal muscle thin films can be 20X more efficient than their 3D counterparts - producing significantly larger forces from smaller tissue volumes: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
