i have a disdain for this kind of leftist-on-leftist behaviour. i understand the instinctive pressure that capitalism places towards austerity, but many progressives want to fight for better outcomes (in the near-term!) for people through issue-based advocacy, rather than just read theory all day

I want Canada to have more mobility with Europe. Not because I think vast numbers of people will use it initially. But having it as an option opens your mind for the future. “Maybe I should pay attention in that language class?” “Maybe there are more places in the world than just the US?”
