I have to use ChatGPT at work and the first thing I did was stop it from referring to itself in the 1st person. I think it's a big part of why, the more I use it, the less impressive it is. Because I'm not being slowly suckered into thinking it's my friend. It's just a tool. One that often sucks.

It should absolutely be illegal for a computer program to refer to itself as "I" or "me." This single change alone would probably prevent a significant amount of LLM psychosis and cut way down on the success of simple scams that rely on commercially available chatbots.
