Wyra is a bit of a romantic, he’s kind of a loverboy, I think he finds the idea of vows very sweet, even if he considers himself to be bad with vulnerable, honest words. I think he’d like a ceremony about that with Y’shtola someday! I’m still mulling ideas over. I might not have them exchange rings

So they end up at an impasse: A’djeah wants a public matelotage ceremony, but Wyra won’t take the hit to his political standing in Limsa Lominsa to have one. I still call them ex wives, simply for one reason: it is funny.

which means that the two would have had to go to another captain (Carvallain, Rhoswen, Hyllfyr). Politically this would have been scandalous for Wyra as it would have been very disrespectful for him to go to a captain that wasn’t his own for a matelotage ceremony.
