Which made me think that there were mean proposal reviewers for some time now. It also made think a little of the Bs at step 2 of the ERC evaluation, where the panels want to send the message that the PI needs to modify the proposal quite a bit before resubmitting.

Long day of teaching labs. Adored the students. Took myself to dinner at a Mexican restaurant here in Christchurch NZ. A glass of sangria. Some guacamole. And a pretty awesome chicken taco. Then I stumble home to grab some sleep and get ready for tomorrow.

Huge congratulations to @ShubhaUdupa on her brilliant thesis oration! 🎓 Shubha is a joint PhD student between my lab and Prof Marc Erhardt’s lab at Humboldt Universität. Shubha resolved a ~80-year-old, clinically highly relevant problem in bacterial cell biology. 🦠🔬. Onwards and upwards, Shubha!
