My mom was a Red Sox fan. Months after she died, I had a work event at Fenway (to be clear, I am not a baseball player). I called my sister sobbing and babbling from the Green Monster. This is hard but I hope you know you’re never alone.

evidence of breakage of damage is not a flaw to be hidden, but something valuable, part of the object’s history. But on the anniversary days still, I feel a bit raw around my own grief. Anyways, I just want quietly acknowledge your grief and offer love to you regardless.

the love and the support for the handbasket this week has lifted me up so much, but today something triggered me and i was reminded i’m still working with a broken heart. it’s very hard to balance the satisfaction of being back in the work game while still feeling really sad.
