And range matters: queer art should be allowed to be tender, filthy, funny, frightening, boring, or gloriously overstuffed—not forced to serve as a civics lesson.
Show PostNever forget EA has had a stranglehold on Bioware since 2007, when they made the HORRENDOUS DECISION to *checks notes* have a female alien kiss a female human in Mass Effect 1 and it made a bunch of boomers uncomfortable
Show PostYeah, I'm not going to pretend the vilest corners of the internet loudly hating on Taash didn't at least play a part in this. Someone saw the backlash, surmised that the queerness of Bioware was either a liability, or expendable at best, and called for the shut-down.
Show PostMmk maybe the specificity of my accusation doesn't perfectly encompass the whole reason for the closure but whatever, I was in a mood and I'm not giving EA the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't at least part of their decision, EA is a black hole. The making art part is what actually matters!
Show PostEA's closure of BioWare is transparently a vile move to shutter the studio that made by far their queerest titles. In the wake of this, I implore you: MAKE MORE QUEER ART. Make it trans. Make it horny. Make it scary. Make it loving. Make it with every inch of yourself. Flood the world with it!
