Very easy to say, harder to do. JSJ was an active member who was trusted with responsibility, people in those position usually are. But he hadn’t faced the standard of competition and vetting that you’d normally get for a Senate seat.

Agree. There are 15 lower house seats to fill. Unless you have 19 people who are considered ready to be MPs, you wouldn't be able to run for every seat and have a ticket of 4 for the Senate, but to get the lead person elected, you really need to.
