Fundamentally launching tends to happen now only after people are ready to cohabitate and that happens earlier for women than men typically for obviously social reasons. Average relationship age gap is 2-3 years younger for women than men.

They just think it’s better to live at home rent free and save up until you can buy a house.

It’s just housing costs I think. Lots of parents have nice houses with space with good access to work, and would typically be very expensive to rent anything remotely equivalent. One of my neighbours has a 26 and 23 year old both at home and both are accountants.

I think some of it is because more live at home. Fewer are experiencing independent living for the first time among friends and peers. Thats a cost of housing and education thing.
