Mainly plants and pretty things, with a dollop of music/TV geekery, and random nonsense FISC 5, still makes mistakes 🤦♂️🤷♂️ He/Him/They/Them/Get Her pro-Trans 🏳️⚧️ Low-level tolerance to wankery. Swears more than my mother would like.

This N Tees pond produced 40 aquatic invertebrate species, not at all bad for a rainy autumn afternoon. Star was Dytiscus semisulcatus, a great diving beetle associated with high quality ponds and ditches in fens and on grazing marshes; only known from 4 sites in Cleveland. @teesbirds.bsky.social
Show PostThis month’s #PhotoOfTheMonth comes from the #Albera region of #Spain, kindly submitted by Dani Boix. The photograph shows one of the #Mediterranean #temporary #ponds of this remarkable #pondscape featuring dense submerged vegetation and narrow-leaved ash trees standing in the #water.
Show PostOn checking, there are records on the BSBI database going back to 2011 for North Sands and the Old Cemetery at H'pool, and for Seaton Dunes back to 2010.
Show PostI noticed that in your painting. Within Cleveland, the BSBI atlas shows only old records on the north side of the Tees up to 2019, so this must be a recent expansion. I've only seen it at @botanicalmartin.bsky.social's site near S Gare before. There's loads of it at Steetley.
Show PostI’ve found several around Seaton Carew this year, including on the tern colony.
