In response to the American tariffs, I have directed government and crown agencies to exclude US suppliers from any new purchasing or procurement agreements. It’s just one of the actions we are taking to prioritize Canada first.

Background: 60 USAID employees had been placed on leave for “undermining” Trump’s executive orders. Nick Gottlieb was told by DOGE to then fire them. Instead he emailed all of them earlier saying he found no evidence of misconduct and used his power to take them off leave. Then he was put on leave.
