This makes me so angry. This rate of change and delay will not provide housing at the speed we need it. I think a lot about how I moved here at 21 and found cheap housing, and how unlikely that will be for my almost 13yo when he’s 21. I hope the legislature has some smackdown planned.

The legislature needs to intervene. It’s ridiculous that these appeals can cause these delays.

One thing about Copenhagen is that there's tons of dense housing but you *never* find it fronting a busy road with cars racing past, which describes about 90% of the apartments in the US. They manage to make it feel tucked away, private, cozy. (These are all from Sluseholmen, my dream neighborhood.)

NYC is opening 160 car-free (but treat-filled) streets and plazas to enjoy fun and safe fall festivities this spooky season. Find one near you at nyc.gov/trickorstreets.
