the other thing is that conservatives resolutely do not see the purpose of education as providing social mobility but as reifying and deepening existing inequalities of status. they are as hostile to low income students getting admission to elite institutions as they are black ones.
Show Post(all of this would be news to the authors of the 14th amendment btw but then originalism is a tendency designed to reify hierarchies of status and thus they dispense with it when it comes to equal protection jurisprudence)

Dems aren't nearly left enough. It has been shown time and time again that when democrats stand up for working class people with ideas like public healthcare, trans rights, anti-corruption, and democratic ideals they win. Get with the program!
