Because it was either love myself enough to be free of the never ending feeling of being in the wrong skin, with the wrong proportions and never ending dysphoria in seeing myself, or to abandon all my hopes, dreams, and chosen family. So I took a chance on me, and I refuse to look back ever.

If I had not transitioned, I would have gone insane, or killed myself, or both. After my youngest son passed, I realised life was too short to continue living the lie that society wanted, which was detrimental to my own mental health, happiness and well-being for decades. Transition saved me.
