…and one of the coolest things: they have partnered with multiple health systems and physicians in the area so that physicians/NPs/PA-Cs are able to write prescriptions for their patients to get fresh produce from Eastern Market on a weekly basis, free of charge, if I recall correctly!

Eastern Market is a truly incredible asset to the city of Detroit! They have a network of community gardens, they do a mobile market truck that goes around to various locations in the metro Detroit area and sells a variety of produce, they have a partnership with the state to accept SNAP benefits…

Reason # 3626268 why I love living in Detroit: Eastern Market! Strawberries, 4 red pears, 5 yellow pears, 3 bundles of asparagus, mustard greens, 14 roma tomatoes, 2 baggies of sprouts, 2 bunches of bok choi, 4 yellow squash, 4 zucchini, 1 bundle of tot choi, and a flat of raspberries… …for $25!
