All I can really say is I'm strongly ethically opposed to that kind of lolcow content. I do hold myself to a real standard about it and don't think I've made that kind of work but I'm not offended you raised it and don't wanna be dismissive either. It's a fair thing to ask of anyone with an audience
Show PostFair as a worry; I can see how it could read that way, and fwiw I don't make fandom videos any more. From my POV those tumblr videos are autobiographical; they were always written as personal, affectionate reflections on my *own* experiences as a queer teen, not extractive content about other people
Show PostThe ones before that were about liking Buffy season 6, how it's harmful to accuse closeted queer people of queerbaiting, Bad Cinderella the musical, how AI chatbot companies are predatory, Buffy again, and then a video *against* lolcowing. Where's the person/community you think I'm aiming people at?
Show PostI get what you're saying but I don't think "drama youtuber" is a fair characterization of my stuff. My last four videos are about the publishing industry harming people with trauma, archival violence in historiography, cheating in pro chess, and the overuse of clinical pathology labels.
