@deafdefiler.bsky.socialThis works out well with exploring personal relationships, and in my experience, makes for much more enjoyable writing and more engaging scenarios. Easier to read & write! No matter your personal interest or your smut's focus, I promise fleshing out ALL involved characters can help! Until tomorrow!
Show PostAs with the "low volume" entry, having a character who can show excitement, eagerness, appreciation, and basic horniness enhances those feelings in the reader too. The context is deeper and richer when the paired partner has their own motivations, desires, etc. And it makes dialog easier too!
Show PostThe "random (super buff) dude who doesn't matter" has obvious reasons to exist -- self insertion, generic appeal, and of course to keep focus on a single character. But honestly, I wish it were used less, especially when actual characters with personalities bring so much more context to a scene.
Show PostSo, especially when porn focuses on a single character, it's pretty common you'll see stuff like this. I do it all the time, too. The faceless crowd with no distinct identity is more a sexual prop than a group of characters, but it definitely has its uses, and I'm not strictly advocating against it.
Show PostK.E. 19 "Faceless Males" and missing pieces This one ties deeply into yesterday's talk about story and context, and previous topics of detail + characterization. As a note, while I'll be framing this mostly in terms of straight cis smut, the ideas apply to any depicted partners!
