Not really hypocrisy. She is not saying this to protect LGBT people’s rights, but to openly defend the indefensible: a bigot’s “right to live openly and safely as themselves”. And she pretends we live in a society which values “religious freedom” rather than “freedom of religion”.
Show PostThe “everyone” is doing the heavy lifting here. We have rights; religious fanatics do not. There is no everyone, and any law that does not effectively criminalise them is a recipe for disaster and a manual for conversion therapy.
