I'm not a Christian, but one of the things I've always admired about Christian theology is the radical empathy of God incarnating Godself to literally feel the suffering of the human body. Apparently I admire this part of Christianity more than many American Christians do.

if you believe the bible is the word of god (a thing you have to believe if you are a christian) then you just cannot have these two separate thoughts.

you dont have to be some sort of religious scholar to get this. im a barely christian who mostly knows about the bible from some stuff i learned as a little kid and from my mother. jesus is empathy, empathy is jesus. that's the whole point of the entire book. the entire faith.

there is no rational way for a sentient human being to be a part of a religion where jesus christ is arguably the most important figure and be anti-empathy. no possible way. at all.
