When learning complex concepts such as stoichiometry in my science classroom, I always start by telling students that the topic is challenging but that they can do it. By framing it in this way, I permit students to rise to the challenge and believe in their abilities rather than give up.

Classrooms should be designed using materials that reinforce growth through language and imagery. Using positive reinforcement and phrasing such as "Mistakes help you grow" and "I can't do this YET". Teachers can also post student work showing progress (before and after) #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset

For assignment & project instructions, including the objectives of completing it will promote a growth mindset. Offers the end goal for students to look toward. The phrasing of instructions can also promote a this mindset. If the teacher is excited for growth, it'll rub off #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset
