I'm 49 and until Friday the closest death I experienced was my 94 y.o. Opa. 2 days ago, I lost a dear friend. She was brilliant, hilarious, and caring. She had the most insane laugh and she was not afraid to use it. With no warning, she is gone and I'm absolutely heartbroken.

Thanks Pamela. Great seeing you as well. The seminar was one of the best GSA experiences I have had. And congratulations on the new job.

Still haven’t had my first class yet but term is slowly getting into gear. Got a few MAs across the finish line and welcomed a few more PhDs including a bright, smart, student from the US eager to make a new start.

I'm on the advisory board of German History and just out of our annual meeting. It is perhaps good for colleagues, VAP, and senior graduate students to know that the journal is VERY KEEN on special issue submissions, especially in new and emergent areas of interest.
