Two observations: (1) the term كورة (kūra) translates χώρα, but it's also a transliteration of the Greek term that seems to have passed into Arabic via Syriac ܟܘܪܐ (kurå); (2) the term محارس is pl. محرس (maḥras), a nomen loci, normally signifying a guarded place, here translating φυλακή ("watch").
