I stayed in some guy’s condo in chicago and he gave us instructions for sneaking past the doorman. my buddy found a loose adderall in a kitchen drawer. I’m not actually nostalgic for this, though
Show PostDisclaimer: I’ve never stayed in an Airbnb. My impression of the industry is that it started just to make a few bucks. A spinoff of the entire network of cool young people sofa-surfing all over Europe for free 20 years ago. Folks here in the US are in it for an easy retirement gig. Yay, Capitalism!
Show Poststayed in an airbnb in colorado overlooking a mostly legal weed farm, the host offered me a mason jar of the stickiest icky i ever did see 10 years later in richmond i stayed at one that charged me like $150 for not taking the trash cans to the curb
Show Postwell if a bear is attacking you, you haven't been very safe around bears, have you?
Show Postit's hard to describe to young folks how cool airbnb was when it first launched. just weirdos and spare rooms for like twenty bucks. we stayed at a guy's house in oregon who was a "bear safety expert" and when we asked him what to do if a bear attacked you he replied, completely seriously "i dunno."
