PS: One of the many deeply bizarre things about Trump is his determination to tell the wrong story about himself. The true thing is: I played a Strong Leader on TV convincingly, and part of what people want is a Strong Leader, and sometimes (sometimes!) the appearance is the thing itself.

In both cases, it reveals how unseriously we take politics in some sense. You wouldn't give a surgeon's son the scalpel just because he's the surgeon's son! You wouldn't ask a Kardashian to manage the bank that holds your savings or lead your army to war just because you watched her reality TV show!
