I'm really starting to think that the biggest problem around AI that large educational institutions are facing is the mixed messages students are getting. Is it possible for a whole institution (more than just a law school) to formulate a coherent statement of values and practice around AI?

And yet they still lie and make up “facts”. Last week I challenged Google Gemini to explain why it made something up, and it lied and simply doubled down on the part that I didn’t challenge. I will trust these models with facts when hell freezes over.

I trust you’re right about that. My nitpick is rather about how the letter-counting failure is sort of disconnected from the other progress. That there’s not some overall progress that happened to solve both letter counting and maths, but rather goal-directed engineering for the latter.
