It was lovely to see the church so full for Choral Evensong last night, but I’m not going to pretend it was because of our singing! (I stayed for the talk too - it was really interesting.)

Show PostOur tour guide, Rev Phillip Dawson, was hugely knowledgeable and very entertaining. If he’s leading any future tours, I’d book yourself in. Archivist/cataloguing friends: the church is looking for volunteer archivists in case you have any spare time on your hands.
Show PostSamuel Pepys and his wife Elizabeth both worshipped at the church and are buried in a vault under the nave. Poor Elizabeth looks down at us now from the left of the altar and across the nave. Small recompense for enduring her husband’s affairs with their maids and dying at just 29.
