For things like that, I think there's a need for people to refuse to go away and to instead demand the changes they think need to happen, to be loud when something is wrong, etc.

Like "do I still want to be in contact with my uncles, my mom, my dad, my siblings, etc?" It's bleak as hell at that stage and every possible answer feels dirty as hell. The only thing I've learned is that there IS a time to move on and there IS a time to hang in there. When to do each? Idk.

Man, the topic of how much we engage with people on the wrong side of all this is such a deep well. I honestly feel like there's no right answer, but there are a ton of wrong ones. And I don't know how the generations play out for guys your age, but for people my age, it bleeds to family.
