Some of you support some contemptible things
Show Postyou pay for it either way, that's not the question the difference is that genuinely US consumerism is something we Americans have been raised to expect, and we feel disrespected when it's not how we're treated. it feels like being reduced to a child or a person without autonomy
Show PostI mean this stuff even comes up in smaller ways in places like France when I was in France and wanted to get OTC allergy meds (that are OTC there) I had to explain to the pharmacist/chemist what exactly I needed them for in the US, it's a product i can buy. I don't have to justify myself
Show Postmy entire bugbear here is "if you're on this site as an American, and you're being led to believe you will have better health care under M4A, you are going to be disappointed and that is going to make you a target for right wing recruitment"
Show PostI am not saying that there's no improvement to be had I'm saying that, right now, if you can access health care in the US at all, you're a beneficiary of the inequality that exists right now the people for whom this is not the case right now *largely do not vote or vote Republican*
