Eventually calluses can fade over time because your body just makes new layers of skin underneath, could still be working the same job just burnt those parts less or did other duties. I miss the calluses on my fingers for guitar playing lol I just play drums more often instead~

Yep. I used to commis chef years ago, and when I left that job I worked in a cafe, and could take the baked potato trays out of the oven without gloves just by resting the edges on the callouses. It upset a LOT of people. It was awesome. Can't do it any more.
