Have you tried DaVinci Resolve? It's free to use with very little limitations and is overall much more powerful than the free Capcut version

The desk setup. Replaced the #DavinciResolve Mini panel with a Micro. The Mini, as much as I love it, took up WAY too much desk space so this one is a nicer fit. #postchat #postproduction #postsky

It’s probably because it’s VFR. I recommend converting to CFR with free software like Shutter Encoder. community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-...

Adobe may have addressed this in a newer release, but AAF was broken on ARM-based Macs for a while. I had to do sound turnovers on an Intel Mac last year. The PT compatibility wasn't an issue for me though, so this might be something different? Good luck!
